Overview

Cotton Beach Apartments is a brand new three storey beachfront property consisting of two and three bedroom apartments at Casuarina in Northern NSW, Australia.

Each apartment at Cotton Beach has a fully equipped kitchen with European appliances, open plan living areas and an open air balcony or terrace. Some of the ground floor apartments feature a private plunge pool, and some of the top floor apartments have their own private rooftop terrace with ocean views.

Cotton Beach Apartments is set amongst landscaped tropical gardens and includes a lap pool, lagoon style pool, sauna and gymnasium. It is an easy stroll over the boardwalk and through a natural reserve to the beautiful white sand beach.

Cotton Beach is perfect for families or couples for a week or a weekend away, and is conveniently located only 15 minutes drive south of Gold Coast (Coolangatta) Airport, and 30 minutes drive north of beautiful Byron Bay.

Visitor Review

Following a hiccup with some alternative accommodation at Kingscliff, we changed locations to stay at Cotton Beach. The personal assistance we received from the Reservations Manager in this process was second-to-none (and this was late on a Sunday). Be aware that check-in is not located at the Cotton Beach property, but in a central location nearby via a short drive so not really a problem. The property itself is amazing. If you can afford to splurge, take the 3Bdrm Penthouse. We stayed in a top floor Penthouse. The kids (including young teens) loved the media room, everyone loved the pool area, and it was easy to find breezy spots on the decks and rooftop to eat and play boardgames together. The two ensuite main bedrooms (1 King and 1 Queen) were luxuriously appointed as was the kitchen. Indeed, this is the only apartment we have never felt the need to wash the crockery and cutlery before using it! The oceanviews and birdlife viewing from apartment were an unexpected bonus. The beach was a short walk and not for a long time have we seen a beach as pristine as Casuarina. There was a patrolled beach in walking distance but we were very happy to swim in the lagoon pool in the complex. The property itself is impeccably maintained with beautiful gardens and shady walkways. We spotted the maintenance crew at work but they were very discrete and in fact, most of the time, we felt quite secluded in the accommodation. The underground parking was very convenient to our apartment via lift and the entire complex is very well-secured. Try to arrange a late checkout to enjoy a leisurely departure and final swim before leaving, and be sure to plan and take your food supplies if self-catering to save a drive to find a convenience store. Not really a problem but the time is better spent relaxing than grocery shopping.

Getting There

NORTHBOUND - From Byron Bay/Ballina Airport:
- Follow the Pacific Motorway to Cabarita Beach/Bogangar exit (Clothiers Creek Road).
- Cross the overpass bridge and continue towards Cabarite Beach.
- Follow the winding road to the roundabout at Tweed Coast Road.
- Turn left and continue for 2km to the Domain Casuarina Beach Resort entrances.
- Turn right at the second entrance (Barclay Drive) and turn left into car park for Casuarina office.

SOUTHBOUND - From Brisbane Airport/Gold Coast Airport (Coolangatta):
- Follow the Pacific Motoryway to Gold Coast Airport (Coolangatta).
- From the Gold Coast Airport (Coolangatta), take the Tweed bypass over Sexton's Hill (Banora Point) and follow the highway signs towards Ballina.
- After Sexton's Hill, cross the Tweed River Bridge and continue for 2.8 km. Take the second exit (Tweed Coast) to Kingscliff/Cudgen. Veer left to follow Tweed Coast Road.
- Follow Tweed Coast Road straight through a set of traffic lights for approximately 4km to Domain Casuarina Beach Resort. Turn left into Barclay Drive and then turn into the first driveway on the left.

2 Bedroom Apartment
Self contained Two Bedroom Apartments are spacious and modern. Each features a kitchen or kitchenette with European appliances, open plan living areas, a main bathroom, an ensuite bathroom, a laundry and an open air balcony. Apartments are suitable for couples or families and include air conditioning, TV, DVD player and phone.

Bedding configuration is 1 Queen bed and 2 Single beds. Maximum occupancy is 4 guests.

3 Bedroom Deluxe Apartment
These Deluxe Three Bedroom Apartments are located beachside, and are ideal for families. Each is fully self contained with a fully equipped modern kitchen and laundry facilites. Apartments have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, spacious living areas and an open air balcony. Room facilities include air conditioning, TV, DVD player and phone.

Bedding configuration is 2 Queen beds and 2 Single beds. Maximum occupancy is 6 guests.

3 Bedroom Penthouse
Stylish and modern Penthouse Apartments are ideal for those who desire a luxurious getaway within walking distance to the beach. Penthouses on the ground floor feature their own swim up balcony from the pool. Top floor Penthouse Apartments feature a private rooftop terrace with beautiful ocean views. Each features a fully self contained modern kitchen, spacious living areas, a media room, three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a balcony and a laundry.

Bedding configuration is 1 King bed, 1 Queen bed and 2 Single beds. Maximum occupancy is 6 guests.

Disliked: A few of the owners of apartments, If you have Children they are not allowed to be children. My children were not noisy but when you are around the main pool please dont let them have fun. There are

Wow what a relaxing break. The apartments with privatge roof top terraces were very fantastic - a real luxary. We stayed up late each night and watched for shooting stars and got up early in the morning and had a cup of tea watching the waves.

Liked: The boardwalk, beach, quality complex/apartment well fitted out.
Disliked: can't really think of anything to note

Had an Excellent stay in one of the 2 bedroom apartments.. What a fantastic Getaway, gorgeous beaches, restaurants nearby, excellent rooms.. basically it was a great week allround.. we liked it so much we have booked again for september and december this year

Had a wonderful stay at Cotton Beach. The apartments are beautiful and the pools are fantastic. It's so close to the beach and the whole family had a wonderful stay. Will definitely be back in the future. A great place to get away from it all and Casuarina is so relaxing and different compared to the Gold Coast which is why we love it.

Unwieldy Check In Procedure including emailed maps, lock codes, keys to be picked up at a venue 2km away, no front desk, no mobile phone service, no phone in room, no internet.

Checkout time by manager at (non-local) desk does not match time displayed in compendium. Poor conflict resolution by reception staff
